What is DuraTherm™?

DuraTherm™ is a decorative asphalt surfacing system designed specifically for high-traffic crosswalks. Its thermoplastic material is inlaid into imprinted asphalt and installed flush with the surface, making it highly resistant to wear from traffic. Unlike traditional street print methods, DuraTherm™ pavement integrates seamlessly with asphalt, ensuring exceptional durability. The result is a bold, eye catching patterned asphalt surface that withstands heavy use while enhancing pedestrian safety and urban appeal.

How to install DuraTherm™

Installations are performed by Licensed DuraTherm™ Applicators, trained and certified for this specialised technology. The process ensures asphalt stamps are integrated into the pavement, preventing peeling, cracking, or premature wear.

Heating the Asphalt – A specialised pavement heater softens the asphalt to prepare for stamping.

Imprinting the Pattern – A template is pressed into the softened asphalt, creating an asphalt stamping effect.

Inlaying DuraTherm™ – Pre-cut DuraTherm™ sections are placed into the imprinted asphalt.

Fusing the Material – The pavement heater is applied again to bond the DuraTherm™ material seamlessly with the asphalt.

Final Finishing – The surface is smoothed and left to set, resulting in a flush, long-lasting DuraTherm™ pavement.

Why DuraTherm™?

Unmatched DurabilityDuraTherm™ pavement lasts at least three times longer than standard thermoplastic applications.

Minimal Traffic Disruption – Installations are completed in under 90 minutes per lane, reducing community impact.

Skid-Resistant & Safe – The material maintains a smooth, slip-resistant surface, equal to surrounding asphalt.

Highly Visible & Reflective – Vibrant colours and bold patterns improve pedestrian and driver safety.

Customisable Designs – Communities can create unique visual identities with tailored graphics and colour schemes.

Quiet & Vibration-Free – Unlike traditional paving, DuraTherm™ reduces vehicle vibrations and noise pollution.

In addition to performance, StreetStrong’s DuraTherm™ aligns with sustainability goals. The inlaid design prevents material degradation, reducing maintenance and resource consumption. Additionally, its longevity minimises environmental waste from frequent resurfacing. Cities and municipalities seeking eco-friendly, patterned asphalt solutions recognise DuraTherm™ as a sustainable investment.

Where to Apply DuraTherm™?

DuraTherm™ pavement is ideal for:

Crosswalks, Parking Lots, Medians & Roundabouts, Pedestrian Areas & Streetscapes, Bike Lanes & Bus Lanes, School Zones & Safety Areas.

For cities and municipalities looking for a reliable, long-lasting asphalt stamping solution, StreetStrong’s DuraTherm™ pavement is the ultimate choice. Its combination of durability, aesthetic appeal, and sustainability makes it a superior alternative to traditional street print methods.
