StreetStrong Specialise in Public Art Sector with Artist Nadia Odlum

March 2025

StreetStrong worked with artist Nadia Odlum on the transformative public art project Through Flow’ in Zetland, NSW. Designed by Nadia, the StreetStrong crew applied StreetBond™ to the pavement, seamlessly integrating this interactive installation into the urban environment, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and durability.

Through Flow explores movement and interaction in public space, transforming pedestrian circulation into an immersive experience that encourages heightened sensory awareness. Inspired by the fluidity of movement, this installation consists of seven tilted arches made from stainless steel tubes. The largest arches serve as sculptural elements, while the smaller ones double as street furniture, inviting pedestrians to pause, gather, and engage with the space in new ways. The design challenges conventional ideas of urban flow, encouraging intuitive navigation and deeper physical interaction with the environment.

As experts in StreetBond™ applications, StreetStrong utilised a meticulous process to ensure a flawless finish. The application begins with surface preparation, where the pavement is cleaned and primed to maximise adhesion. StreetBond™ coatings are then applied in multiple layers, allowing each coat to cure properly for optimal durability and colour vibrancy. The process ensures that the final surface is not only visually striking but also resistant to weathering and wear, making it ideal for high-traffic public spaces.

The benefits of StreetBond™ include exceptional durability, resistance to cracking, peeling, and fading, even under heavy foot traffic and exposure to the elements. Its UV-stable pigments maintain vibrant colours over time, while slip-resistant properties ensure pedestrian safety in all weather conditions. StreetBond™ is also an eco-friendly choice, with low-VOC formulations making it a sustainable option for urban projects. Its versatility allows for application on various surface types and intricate artistic designs, while its low maintenance reduces long-term costs.
