What is Traffic Calming?

The objective of traffic calming is to reduce speeding and improve safety in zones where lower vehicle speeds are critical.

Traffic calming refers to the use of street design strategies and physical measures that slow vehicle speeds and make roads safer for everyone. It is most often applied in residential streets, school zones, and high pedestrian areas, where the interaction between vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians is at its highest.

StreetPrint® stamped asphalt in Orange, NSW

StreetStrong Crew transforming the streets of Orange by heating the asphalt and applying the StreetPrint application for an effective, textured, durable and sustainable finish.

Stamped asphalt has been applied to fourteen high-activity intersections in the regional city, in an effort to make the CBD more pedestrian-friendly. Using the patented StreetPrint® process, the existing asphalt was stamped at high heat to create a brick-like, textured effect. A StreetBond® coloured coating was then applied to the surface.
